"I would like to thank everyone associated with the Beacon Foundation for your support. While seeking medical treatment for an ongoing stomach disorder, doctors discovered that my lung was collapsed. I was very fortunate to go to the Mayo Clinic where I was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease that results in spontaneous collapse of the lungs. The doctors at Mayo found a collapse in both lungs and scheduled me for surgery the following week. I was in the hospital for a week and am not able to fly until May. There was so much stress about the surgery, recovery, my job, my children’s health; it was a blessing to have financial support from the Beacon Foundation. The application process was very easy and everyone I spoke to was helpful and compassionate. The funds my family received have made it possible for us to keep up with our household expenses and medical bills. Thanks again to everyone who supports the Beacon Foundation. Your support definitely makes a difference in peoples lives when they need it the most."

“I had a minor surgery scheduled three years ago which would only require a few weeks off. I figured that I would miss one trip, maybe two. Well nothing is ever as we plan for so carefully. I came back to work, and after one trip, I discovered the surgery helped nothing. As a result, I ended up being off for the better part of nine months. After about three months, I was having a lot of trouble keeping up with my bills. The house payment was the hardest and those mortgage companies have no sympathy. I was in danger of loosing my house when someone suggested The Beacon Foundation. I learned some time ago that it’s o.k. to ask for help, but I was still feeling rather inadequate when it came time to ask. I can’t tell you how nice everyone was. They assured me that that was the exact reason for the Foundation and, of course, they got me caught up on my mortgage. I would have lost my home if it wasn’t for them. The fear of loosing it was gone. The fear is not conductive to recovery. It is wonderful to know they are there to help us; especially now when times are rough. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“I want to take this opportunity to thank you very much for the donation I received in July. The Beacon Foundation was able to help me and my family during a turbulent time. Because of the foundation’s generosity, I was able to get back on track in my finances. As a token of my appreciation, I would like to donate $5.00 each pay period to the Beacon Foundation. Again, my family appreciates your thoughtfulness."

"To my fellow flight attendants: I wanted to write a note and let you know how blessed we are to have the Beacon Foundation! I am on a medical leave and out of all sick time and vaction time. The Beacon Foundation has helped me tremendously with my Cobra Insurance. Thank you so much to those that contribute!! When I return to work I plan to increase the amount I donate to this Wonderful Organization!"

“God answered prayers for me each time I received funds from the angels of Beacon. I have had nearly three years of financial hardship because of seven surgeries I have had in that time period. There were many a day I didn’t know how we were going to pay the medical bills that were pouring in. Cigna cut-off my disability and times were bleak. To say that Beacon has been a Godsend is an understatement. I would like all NWA FAs to know how very much appreciated your donations are. God bless each of you and thank you form the bottom of my heart.”

“I’d like to thank you all for your support during these very trying times in my life. My children and I would have had a very difficult time making it through these last few months, if it weren’t for the Beacon’s support. Thank you!”
